February 1:
Homeward bound. We breakfasted at the Radisson (which had a scrumptious buffet) and then took a walk around the stately old colonial style houses. We were amazed at the bird life so readily accessible—scissor tailed flycatchers frolicked in the palms next to the Radisson, and a yellow throated warbler hunted for insects in the garden foliage. We also spotted many cinnamon hummingbirds and a brilliant red summer tanager. But then we were whisked away to the airport, away from our warm, welcoming, and thriving tropical paradise and back to the reality of a chilly and damp Pacific Northwest winter.
